SamenFest 2020 – da von und da für
The diversity of cultivated plants is the focus of the Seed Festival, which is taking place again this year for the second time in the barn of the Sockerhof in Mals in the Upper Vinschgau.
Due to the increasing world market orientation and industrialisation of agriculture in the last decades, the variety of our cultivated plants has decreased enormously. Seed that is adapted to natural conditions and has a stable seed content is being displaced by hybrid breeds. Access to these seeds is regulated by multinational corporations and is thus subject to a monetary-economic logic.
The Seed Festival in Mals is intended to offer a platform for gardeners and farmers, for people who are taking the preservation and further development of our food basis into their own hands again and thus making it a common good again.
It serves the exchange of seeds, of information, of knowledge.
It contributes to bringing diversity back into our gardens and into our landscape.
We appreciate what is here.
Wir schätzen das was da ist.
